About the Artist
The Artist
Wendy Robles is a visionary science fiction artist whose art carries elements of magical realism. Her works invite the viewer into alternate planes of existence. In these vast landscapes of her mind you may find yourself encountering a portal situated amongst large towering flowers or strange symbols, sometimes reminiscent of two eyes, floating in the sky. These elements have become emblematic of her visual language.
Wendy’s fascination with the natural world and science is central to her creative process, often manifesting in references to astronomical phenomena and botanical forms within her imagined realms that explore the mysteries of life.
Bio
Wendy studied at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and comes from a lineage of women from the rural mountains of Mexico. She has a background in graphic design, designing for global Fortune 500 advertisement campaigns during her years at Leo Burnett. She has also contributed her design work to designing city-wide campaigns for notable museums including the Field Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago.
